The Form No. 14 on this web site was created in 2002 as a courtesy to Missouri attorneys by J. Kent Robinson, who continues to provide maintenance and updates. It is used to calculate a presumed child support obligation pursuant to Missouri Supreme Court Rule 88.01, and has been updated to reflect the support schedule and instructions currently approved by the Missouri Supreme Court.

There are many factors which affect child support calculations. Proper calculation of a child support obligation can only be made by someone with a thorough understanding of Missouri law and the directions and comments for use of Form No. 14. This form should not be used to change an existing support obligation without the assistance of an attorney. An agreement between parents to change support, even if in writing, is usually unenforceable unless it has been formally presented to, and approved by, a court with jurisdiction. If you think your child support should be changed, please consult your attorney.

Sources: The schedule of basic child support obligations is based upon economic estimates of child-rearing costs as a proportion of household spending from national data compiled by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics in the annual Consumer Expenditure Survey from 2013 to 2019. The income data from the Consumer Expenditure Survey, which was specified in constant 2020 dollars, was updated to 2024 price levels using statistics on changes in the consumer price index. Additionally, the schedule of basic child support obligations reflects the federal and Missouri personal income tax rates 2024. In 1993, 1997, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2016, 2020, and, again, in 2024 the self-support reserve in the schedule of basic child support obligations was reviewed for changes in the federal poverty guidelines caused by inflation. The self-support reserve in the attached schedule of basic child support obligations reflects the federal poverty guideline for 2024.
